On the 4th November, Manx Independent Carriers celebrates its 32nd Anniversary. With only three staff members on the first day the business currently employs over 135 Team Members across the three companies of the group. Those Companies are Walter Edmundson (Haulage) Ltd based at Skelmersdale, Lancs, FCX - Freeport Courier Express based at Ronaldsway Airport and of course the founding business of Manx Independent Carriers at Snugborough, Braddan.
We operate 38 vans on our parcel, courier and home delivery business on the Island as well as nine rigid delivery trucks and six 44 tonne tractor units. Our UK fleet consists of eight rigid delivery vehicles and a further six 44 tonne tractor units to service our 100 strong trailer fleet.
We deliver to practically every business and private address on the Isle of Man and our traffic volumes double up on the seasonal run up to Christmas. We deliver a diverse range of goods from foodstuffs and clothing, to plants and tyres through to bulk cement and grain. Many well known High Street brands and International giants entrust us with their deliveries.
Our Chairman John Quaye who has been with the business since day one, said: "Our success is due to our hardworking and dedicated staff and the 'can do' attitude that prevails throughout the company. It has been successful because we build personal relationships with our clients," he said. "It's not about just being a service provider but being a partner with your clients.
