Manx Independent deliver 4G Network
8th September, 2014
Manx Independent Carriers are pleased to have been chosen as the preferred carrier for delivery of the equipment for the Islands new 4G mobile network.
The contract involves storage and order picking of the equipment, delivery to site and unpacking and removal of redundant equipment. We have also delivered mobile phone masts up to 12.5 metres long and installed them.
With over 70 sites island-wide, we have been challenged as many of them are off road and inaccesible by normal vehicles. This has meant that instead of using a conventional delivery truck we have often resorted to delivery by Land Rover and trailer and occasionally even had to use a four wheel drive agricultural tractor. Sites range from the top of the TT Grandstand to the top of Snaefell. Fortunately the delivery at Snaefell was carried out on a sunny but windy day and pictured is the equipment on board our latest mode of transport - an MER Electric tram!
