Manx Independent celebrate 29 years in business

4th November, 2014

Mighty oaks from small acorns grow:

Great things may come from small beginnings.

So it would seem for our company as we enter our 30th year in business. The small beginnings were just three staff and one truck on the 4th November 1985 to over 125 staff and trucks and trailers numbering into the hundreds on the same day 29 years later.

Along the way, our business has grown with the acqusition of various companies, strating with Manx Sea Ferry Freight in 1994, then Edmundson Ronagency, Roadrunners of Merseyside and WS Container Services in 2004 and our latest recruit, Freeport Courier Express (FCX) in 2013.

Along the journey we have shipped thousands of trailers, hundreds of thousand tonnes of freight and probably more than a million parcels.

We have become a household name and one of the most respected businesses on the Isle of Man.

And.... we are pleased to say, we have helped many charitable and sporting  organisations along the way, including Hospice Isle of Man, The Rotary Club, Freemasons, Crossroads Care, Wish upon a Dream, The Alzheimers Society, Namaste Childrens Houses, Oxfam, Onchan School Association, Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band, Manx Radio Dream Catcher Appeal, St Georges AFC, The Manx Two Day Trial, to name but a few.

What a journey!
