St Georges through to Railway Cup Final
3rd December, 2012
ST George’s are almost on the first step of another historic grand slam after our sponsored club won 0-3 at Laxey on Saturday 1st December to reach their third consecutive Railway Cup final.
Atfer a first-half that produced no goals, St Georges once again showed their mettle with a stirring second half performance to overcome the hosts. Skipper Sean Quaye started the winning streak three minutes into the second half with a 30 yard shot that screamed past keeper Andy Perry and into the back of Laxey net.
Quaye then doubled the score with a well taken header from a set piece corner as the Railway Cup holders began to control the game.
Laxey tried their hardest to get back into the game but St George’s responded again with a cross from Ciaran McNulty to striker Calum Morrissey who neatly netted the ball to secure his sides place against St Johns in the Boxing Day final at The Bowl.
