St Georges break another record
15th May, 2011
In the Isle of Man's Canada Life Premier League on Wednesday 11th May, St George’s completed their final game of their successful league campaign as they eased past Castletown 9-0 at Glencrutchery Road and remain the only unbeaten team in this season.
Ciaran McNulty led the way with five goals with Chris Bass Jr making a hat-trick and Frank Jones struck the other.
McNulty’s goals were agonisingly one short of matching Steven Priestnal’s 31 total so the St Mary’s forward wins the golden boot award.
The result also means that Geordies, on their way to winning the title, conceded just 10 goals all season, including only two at home, which breaks the previous records set by St Mary’s in 1997-98.
