St Georges and Union Mills contest Hospital Cup
29th April, 2013
Manx football’s end of season showpiece will be contested by holders St George’s and Union Mills.
The Millers caused a surprise last night (Sunday) when they defeated Old Boys on penalties in the semi-final of the BCS Hospital Cup. The match at Blackberry Lane had finished 2-2 after extra-time. However, the Millers held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out to book a date at the Bowl on May 19.
There they will play league champions and our sponsored team, St George’s who saw off St Mary’s with a dominant 3-1 win to gain revenge for their FA Cup final defeat earlier this month.
Frank Jones, Chris Bass and Ciaran McNulty got the goals with Liam Doyle replying for the Saints.
St Georges are the current holders of the Hospital Cup and have won it four times in the last five years.
