OFT report into Steam Packet pulled
22nd August, 2011
The cost of dealing with a major investigation by the IOM Office of Fair Trading into the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has cost the company almost £1 million, says SPCo chairman Robert Quayle.
In a controversial move that has astonished both critics and supporters of the Steam Packet and has led to strong criticism of OFT boss Bill Henderson MHK, the Office of Fair Trading has controversially decided not to publish the findings of the company’s fares and profits.
The OFT has come in for considerable criticism over the matter and its apparent dithering and changes of heart over the reasons for non publication of the report.
