MIC Fleet Investment

21st January, 2013

2012 saw Manx Independent make major investments in its vehicle fleet.

The early part of the year witnessed the arrival of three brand new fuel efficient MAN TGS tractor units. These vehicles are equipped with engines which have exhaust emissions which comply with the latest Euro 5 legislation and which will compliment our existing fleet which now consists almost entirely of MAN trucks and brings the total number of 44 tonne tractor units available within our fleet to 14.

October and the arrival of another 6 new Ford Transit vans added to the Manx Independent fleet in anticipation of the upsurge in parcel traffic on the run up to Christmas. This brings the total number of Ford Transits in our fleet up to 22 vans in all.

Finally November we received delivery of a MAN TGA 18.284 Curtainsided truck fitted with a versatile tuckaway taillift. This brings our Island based rigid truck fleet to eleven in total.

Completing over 3000 deliveries daily our service is second to none offering instant signature capture and tracking with our advanced hand-held Motorola MC75 GPRS devices.

These latest vehicle additions bring the average age of our vehicle fleet to just over 3 years providing efficiency, reliability and a first class business image which is unrivalled on the Isle of Man.
