Manx Inflation up again!
13th April, 2010
The annual rate of inflation in the Isle of Man increased from 4.8% in February to 5% in March.
This figure is considerably more than the current UK figure of 3% and looks set to get worse with the recent increases in Vehicle Road Tax applicable from 1st April along with a 7% increase in the cost of electricity. (Both Government charges)
Whilst the UK has an inflation target of 2% the Isle of Man Government does not seem to have any targets at all and is content to bang in inflation busting price increases for their services that allow inflation to continue to spiral to the detriment of the public and businesses.
