Manx Inflation on the rise again!
16th June, 2010
Inflation in the Isle of Man is continuing to rise, and has reached the highest level in almost two years.
Manx Inflation now stands at 5.6% an increase of 0.6% on April.
Treasury Minister Anne Craine said she accepted it was putting further pressure on people whose earnings didn't reflect such rises and tried to blame inflationary pressures outside of Government control. However only a few months ago substantial increases were announced by Government in Vehicle Road Tax applicable from 1st April along with a 7% increase in the cost of electricity which makes a complete nonsense of the Ministers statement.
