Manx Inflation for August 08
28th August, 2008
Treasury figures recently announced show that Manx Inflation was 6.4% for the month of August. Treasury Minister Alan Bell was pleased with this figure but of course recent hikes in the cost of domestic gas and a 16% increase in electricity on 1st September will not have filtered through yet.
Also significant is the Steam Packet Company's enormous ferry fuel surcharge which will hit every single Manx resident in their pockets whether for personal travel or for consumer goods.
