Isle of Man Postal Workers go on strike

5th April, 2011

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has now confirmed that its Isle of Man Post members will be striking for 24 hours next Tuesday the 12th April.

Isle of Man Post Chief Executive, Mike Kelly, has said strike action will only damage the business, customer and public support and jeopardise jobs.

Alan Crowe, Chairman of IOM Post still remains adamant that there is no prospect of a pay increase due to the IOM Governments public sector pay freeze.

Manx Independent Carriers will be operating as normal and is willing to assist clients who suffer problems due to the strike.
