Isle of Man Football Squad claim 2 wins in friendly matches in NW England
11th May, 2009
THE Isle of Man's two-game tour of the north west came to a close on Sunday 10th May, with a 2-0 win over Runcorn Town. A screamer from the in-form Calum Morrissey and a first senior goal for Geordies' clubmate Jack McVey sealed the national outfit's second win in as many days. On Saturday Kevin Manning's men beat Unibond Premier League side Cammell Laird in emphatic fashion 6-1.
As well as competing in the National Systems League, the team will be competing at the Island Games in Aland in July 2009 and these two friendly matches were a warm up to give new members of the squad the chance to play together in match conditions.
