A local freight company celebrated 25th years in business by supporting their local hospice, Hospice Isle of Man.
Manx Independent Carriers commenced business on 4th November 1985 with three employees – they now employ about 110 staff between the Isle of Man and UK depots. They ship up to 40 trailers daily with the Isle of Man Steam Packet and carry out up to 3,500 deliveries each day with more at peak times such as the current lead up to Christmas.
MIC also presented all employees with a gift voucher to thank them for their loyalty and hard work. As part of the fundraising efforts there was a raffle with Nicki Black of Castletown winning a return trip with the Isle of Man Steam Packet for a car and 2 passengers. Bacon and sausage baps were served on the big day!
Managing Director, John Quaye added: “Throughout the day we asked for donations for our favourite charity and were delighted to raise £157.50 which we matched and presented to Hospice Isle of Man in the amount of £315.”
