Harbour User Agreement dispute ends

11th March, 2013

Seaside Shipping which mounted a legal challenge over the Isle of Man Government’s Harbour User Agreement with the Steam Packet Company has now settled its case but the terms of the settlement are being kept secret due to confidentiality clauses within the agreement.

In September 2007 Seaside Shipping launched a Petition of Doleance challenging the user agreement between the former Government Department of Transport and the Steam Packet.

Recently the Department of Infrastructure aanouced that the petition had been dismissed. Within the terms of the settlement deal, Seaside Shipping will contribute towards the court costs incurred by the Government and the Steam Packet Company.
