15th September, 2014
IRELAND'S Amateur international team played two games against England's UEFA Regions Cup representatives, the Isle of Man FA squad, this week as both sides prepared for the forthcoming international competitive tournament.
On Thursday evening the Manx lost 2-1 to the Irish at Home Farm FC's Whitehall Stadium.
Saturday's game was always going to be difficult to call and it was a more workman like English team that turned up against a totally changed Irish team and left Whitehall Stadium with a 1-0 win when Ciaran McNulty stole in and scored against a flat footed Irish defence in the 40th minute. A strong defence kept the Irish at bay until the end of the match.
The Men travel to Slovenia on Saturday 20th September to take part in the UEFA Regions' Cup when thier group will consist of Germany, Scotland and Slovakia.
