Commonwealth Youth games 2011

Following a long build up the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) is finally about to begin.
With around 1,000 athletes arriving from 66 nations and spanning five continents, the athletes will compete in various events across seven sports ensuring a vibrant festival of sport and competition for all.
During the week-long event the island will play host to competitors from countries from as far afield as Bangladesh and Zambia, with Australia and England especially well-represented with the largest teams of more than 70 athletes each. All competitors in the Commonwealth Youth Games will be a minimum of 14 and maximum of 18 years old in the year of competition.
