British Airways Isle of Man to London flights to resume?

4th December, 2013

British Airways is expected to announce it will resume a daily weekday service between the Isle of Man and London City, the Manx government has said.

In Tuesday's House of Keys, the island's economic development minister said he hopes the airline will make an announcement within the week.

It is anticipated the company will begin three flights a day between the island and London from March 2014.

Mr Shimmin said it will coincide with the end of Flybe's Gatwick service.

In May Flybe announced an end to its direct Isle of Man to Gatwick flights from April, 2014 after the company sold its slots at the London airport to Easyjet for £20m.

Flybe currently operates 26 flights per week to Gatwick from the island's Ronaldsway airport. They will continue until 29 March 2014.

BA currently offers three weekend flights between the Isle of Man and London City Airport.
