BOGUS PARCEL DELIVERY ALERT

12th November, 2009

We would alert customers to beware of a postal scam which is doing the rounds on the Island at the moment.

Cards are being put through letterboxes from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) claiming they are unable to deliver an item, and that the occupier of the property needs to phone to arrange delivery.

The contact number is 0906 6611911, which is a premium rate number.

PLEAASE DO NOT RING THIS NUMBER this is a mail scam originating from Belize. We do not know of any business operating to the Island under the name PDS. (Any calling cards left by Manx Independent Carriers are absolutely genuine.)

Anyone who makes the call will hear a recorded message telling them they have already been billed £15.

Isle of Man residents who receive such cards are asked to contact Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 239 6655 or ICSTIS (the Premium Rate Service Regulator) at icstis.org.uk
